主旨
草間芸術のひとつのキーワードが“反復、増殖、連鎖”。
複数芸術である版画制作は、草間にとってタブロー、オブジェと並び特別な思いがあります。
2022年3月初めて開催した版画展には、多くの皆さまにお越し頂き、大きな反響がありました。
3月22日のバースデーを挟んだ展覧会を恒例展とし、ご来場の皆様とともに、ますますお元気にご活躍されている作家を祝福しながら、草間ワールドに浸って頂く機会になれば幸いに存じます。

- Born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture
- 1949
- Graduated from Kyoto Municipal School of Arts and Crafts.
- 1957
- Left for the U.S.

- She was called "Avant-Garde Queen".
- 1968
- Received various awards for her film "Self-Obliteration"
- 1983
- The novel Kuristofa Danshokutsu published by Kadokawa Shoten, Tokyo, winning the 10th Literary Award for New Writers from the magazine Yaseijidai.
- 1993
- Selected as representative artist from Japan, The Venice Biennale.
- 2000
- Selected for Education Minister Award of the Art Recommendation Award in 2000. Selected for Minister of Foreign Affairs Award in 2000.
- 2001
- Awarded the 71st Asahi Prize.
- 2003
- Received Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (the Order of the Arts and Letters) from France.
- 2006
- Received the 2006 Praemium Imperiale Painting Award.

- Received the Person of Cultural Merit Award.
